16mo; hardcover; contemporary limp vellum binding with yapp edges; fragile binding, spine has significant insect damage; previous owner marks to rear endpapers and one page in the Cronico (Chronicle) section on which every line has been crossed out, and with a marginalia note which translates approximately to “let’s skip everything on this page”. Good copy.

The publisher, Francesco Marcolini, worked as a printer and bookseller in Venice from 1534-46 and 1549-59, and as a Venetian public servant in Cyprus 1546-8, according to the artist description on the website of the Royal Academy of Arts.
